Mining in Colombia is one of the country's main economic engines.

At present, gold, silver, emeralds, platinum, copper, nickel and coal are the most exploited minerals, but since the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, large external mining companies that knew the particularities of exploiting these resources were already beginning to enter Colombia.

The facilities provided by the government of the time to settle in the country, the inefficient control mechanisms and the lack of regulation of the mining activity caused this industry to develop, in a disorganized way, until the 80's. Fortunately, as of 2016, a new mining policy and the National Mining Development Plan 2018-2025 begins.13 and with this, the use of new technologies such as geometallurgy, cyanide recovery, mobile metal ions, wastewater management, sustainable mine closure.14 By 2023 the use of mercury in mining will be banned.

The use of these new technologies. The success story of Tempel Group and its alliance with Colombia's largest technology integrator for the mining industry is one of the keys to this success story.

The project needed to address the shortcomings in terms of security that have the miners Transcend and its Body cam model, the DrivePro TM Body, was the product chosen to meet the challenge.

The 40 cameras feature a high quality image sensor, which facilitates sharp capture even in low light, as it uses high quality image sensors and a tempered glass with an oleophobic coating that prevents fingerprint smudging. This, together with the technology of the INFRARED LEDSThe robustness of the materials of the product, made this company in the mining sector, bet without hesitation by the product of our leading partner in the sector, Transcend, and the proposal of the Tempel Group project team to meet the requirements and particularity of the mining industry project.

Product considerations and advantages:

INFRARED LEDS

Infrared light is the segment of the electromagnetic spectrum invisible to the naked eye that lies between microwaves and visible light. It greatly helps to improve recording quality at night or in dark places. While certain manufacturers use the 850 nm range, the DrivePro Body 30 is designed to take advantage of the higher wavelength of 940 nm, which is less frequently found in nature, to avoid image fading.

RUGGED AND RESISTANT

Material selection and design is another important factor when selecting a body camera. Transcend's DrivePro Body 30 has been rated IP67 by an independent laboratory. It offers complete protection against dust and water immersion. The housing is a polycarbonate fiber composite that is resistant to wear and tear. In addition, the DrivePro Body 30 meets rigorous U.S. military drop test standards for shock resistance, and has passed extensive temperature testing from -20°C to 65°C for most applications and environments.
